John Beijer


Ing John A.J. Beijer (1953) finished his bachelor study Analytical Chemistry in 1976. After this study he joined the AKZO-research laboratory in Arnhem, Netherlands, and worked on Ecotoxicology. In 1978 he moved to the Nature Conservation Department from the Agricultural University in Wageningen, Netherlands, and worked many years on Stream Ecology and Biological Assessment in Aquatic systems. In 1982 he completed a post graduate study in Biology and Aquatic Ecology with a report about the life cycle of Plecoptera (Stoneflies) in streams. In the present team of Aquatic Ecology and Water Quality Management he deals with all kind of research in aquatic systems, both in field and experimental laboratory studies. He is head of the laboratory and member of the management team. Together with other team members he lectures all types of courses in Aquatic Ecology and Water Quality.
